Mindspike


Pros

Pound starts with Mindspike by default in Story Mode and Endless Dungeon. It is a persistent damage object that lasts for 8 seconds and deals up to Attack x 2.25 damage, and can be transformed into a Germinated Mindspike (dealing up to Attack x 9 damage), and then a Death Forest Tree (dealing up to Attack x 18 damage). Mindspikes appear in front of Pound if there is no Aura present, or at the position of any Auras in play -- if there is more than 1 Aura in play, a Mindspike will be placed under each Aura, allowing for Death Forest trees to be grown from multiple positions.


Cons

Mindspike is not overly strong on its own, and it has a narrow area of effect for a persistent damage object. Their placement can take some getting used to, as it can be easy to forget at times if an Aura is out and the player wants to place a Mindspike in front of them (with it ending up under the Aura instead).



Dark Arts


Pros

Pound starts with Dark Arts by default in Story Mode and Endless Dungeon. At its maximum and with Lifeless Blades equipped, Dark Arts can grant Attack + 30 to any ally for 5 seconds, with a cooldown of 10 seconds. It can also gain the ability to power up Death Forest trees at any stage and extend their duration.


Cons

While the Attack buff is nice, its duration is short -- some timing and planning may be needed to synch up Dark Arts with the cooldowns of a target's stronger abilities.



Germinate


Pros

Maxed out, Germinate deals Attack x 4.5 damage and transforms all Mindspikes in play into Germinated Mindspikes, the next stage in creating a Death Forest tree. It also has a cooldown of 5 seconds, making it effective for frequent Mindspike upgrades and Earth Field Effect influence/maintainance.


Cons

Germinate has an extremely narrow area of effect, making it hard to hit with accurately -- it is best used primarily for Mindspike upgrades.



Planet's Power


Pros

Maxed out, Planet's Power places 8 Germinate vines that each deal Attack x 4.5 damage and transform all Germinated Mindspike into very powerful, large area Death Forest trees, with a cooldown as low as 10 seconds.


Cons

Planet's Power has more use as an attack ability than Germinate does, but there is little use in investing in it outside of Death Forest builds.



Magic Blast


Pros

Magic Blast is an ability that deals Attack x 5 damage to an area around Pound with a cooldown as low as 5 seconds. Its primary purpose is to detonate all Mindspikes, Germinated Mindspikes and Death Forest Trees, for larger damage and larger area of effect when the user is done with their Death Forest and needs to build a new one, due to duration running low or a new area needs to be cut off (Death Forest trees when they explode deal up to Attack x 30 damage).


Cons

Magic Blast's Attack x 5 damage for 5 seconds sounds very high, but Pound is also left vulnerable while he is using it. It also cannot be thrown around at any time, especially since it will likely only be brought for Death Forest builds, and its use explodes Death Forests.
