Aura


Pros

Pound starts with Aura by default in Story Mode and Endless Dungeon. Aura is a slow moving projectile that deals Attack x 1.5 per second to every enemy in its area of effect, and it can reach a cooldown as low as 5 seconds with no Augmentors needed. Its main goal is use in Pound's Death Forest build (Earth Field Effect) as a way of preparing multiple Death Forest trees at one time.


Cons

Aura's damage is poor, and despite it being a Mind ability, it is mainly used as a tool for growing Death Forest trees, not for actual combat.



Viper King


Pros

Pound starts with Viper King by default in Story Mode and Endless Dungeon. It is a powerful beam that lasts up to 8 seconds and can hit damage as high as Attack x 1.2 every 1/10 of a second, if max level Zweihanders are equipped and Pound triggered Vampire, making it an incredibly devastating long range, large area attack that can be aimed.


Cons

Viper King packs a lot of power, but in order to hit its massive power, it requires a lot of things -- Pound to sacrifice his abilities temporarily with Vampire and for himself to be protected during the 8 seconds he is firing the beam, either by his own Barrier or by Cherry/Cook tanking. After all of the sacrifice needed to power up Viper King through Vampire, it would be even more wasteful if the beam ended early.



Explosion


Pros

Explosion is an ability that brings Pound to 0 HP, but has no cooldown, can shorten his auto-revive timer to 8 seconds (instead of 20) and deals up to a massive Attack x 36 damage and Knockdown to an area around Pound, making it a very frequent use, high damage ability.


Cons

As it said in the Pros section, Explosion brings Pound to 0 HP -- there's hardly a Con as big as that. Despite the massive area damage being applied at high frequency, this is very much like fighting with a team of 2 characters rather than 3.



Barrier


Pros

Barrier provides a large area, 8 second duration barrier that nullifies all attacks, abilities and projectiles that hit it, effectively protecting a large area from almost anything.


Cons

Pound's Barrier requires careful placement. Unlike Jimmy's similar Withstand Seal, which produces a similar smaller and lower duration barrier with less cooldown (5 seconds), a bad placement of Pound's 20 second cooldown Barrier can be a big waste, even with its superior area and duration. Enemy Earthquakes, such as from a Teras, can still hit through it.



Vampire


Pros

Vampire is an ability that, when maxed out, sacrifices all of Pound's abilities by putting them on cooldown as if used (except for Viper King), but grants any ally (either Pound or a teammate) a massive Attack + 100 and Defense + 80% for a very lengthy 30 seconds, effectively turning whatever character the buff is applied to into both an offensive and defensive powerhouse, opening the way to many unique builds. Pound's Viper King ends up dealing 3x damage for 30 seconds, as well, allowing Pound some high power regardless of who Vampire is applied to.


Cons

Similarly to Explosion, Vampire essentially sacrifices Pound as a team member, though his abilities rather than his HP/life this time. If planning to use Vampire on a team, ensure that it is going to a good choice, be it Pound or someone else.
