Character Guides - Pound - Abilities, Body - May 30, 2020

Pushback

Pros

Like all characters in Story Mode and Endless Dungeon, Pound starts with Pushback. Pound, through his Claymore Crash tree, can gain Pushback Energize, which reduces all of his active cooldowns by 5 seconds on successful Pushback. Thanks to Pushback's low cooldown, Pound can frequently reduce the cooldowns of his other abilities.

Cons

Pound is typically not a melee character, due to his slow basic attack speeds and lack of close-range abilities, so getting up close to use Pushback can be risky if his team is not supporting him defensively.

Knockdown

Pros

Like all characters in Story Mode and Endless Dungeon, Pound starts with Knockdown, and is useful for making an enemy unable to fight back for 2 seconds while they receive 50% more damage.

Cons

Knockdown is nice for what it is, but it does not do anything beyond its status ailment. Its 15 second cooldown for its simplicity is also rather high.

Viper Flight

Pros

Viper Flight, when maxed out, deals Attack x 6 and Knockdown to a large area in a straight line from Pound, with only 10 seconds of cooldown. With correct positioning, Viper Flight can frequently inflict Knockdown to many enemies.

Cons

Viper Flight is not invincible, so Pound might end up throwing himself headfirst into enemy attacks if not careful.

Claymore Crash

Pros

Claymore Crash at maximum deals out Attack x 6 damage for 20 seconds of cooldown, with 4x damage gained during the Body Field Effect.

Cons

Claymore Crash, despite its good power, requires Pound to get in close to deal damage, which is something that Pound's playstyle typically avoids. This is an ability that can find some use in the Body Field Effect, but nothing outside of it.

Stone Gauntlet

Pros

Stone Gauntlet deals Attack x 2 damage and Knockdown to a large area around Pound, with a cooldown as low as 15 seconds. It is a much more reliable source of Knockdown and is much safer for Pound than Viper Flight.

Cons

Despite being safer than Viper Flight, it is much weaker and has a higher cooldown, making it mainly useful as a support ability for the party for large area Knockdown.
