Character Guides - Brooks - Sample Builds - May 30, 2020 Collision Damage Role - Massive damage knockback Required Soul Triad trees to invest in - Crossguard, Home Run, Heavy Focus, Pandemonium Optional Soul Triad trees to invest in - Pickaxe, Power Drag Weapon - Overcompensator or Ireland MRND-48 AAG The goal of Brooks' Collision Damage build is to inflict Pushbreak (acquired through the Crossguard tree, easiest applied through Blastback/Leaps and Bounds in the Heavy Focus tree), then follow up with abilities with that deal large collision damage, like Home Run. Pandemonium is required for its Collision Damage passives. While there are more Soul Triad trees listed than can be maxed out, Crossguard only needs Pushbreak for this build, so other trees can be worked with to partial amounts for more versatility, as well. Pickaxe and Overcompensator work well together in this build, especially due to this build's close-range requirements. Power Drag is useful for grabbing one foe as a Knockback target without wading into a group of them. Ireland MRND-48 AAG is mentioned for versatility in buffing allies. Long Range Role - Long range damage and Blind Required Soul Triad trees to invest in - Multi-Shot, Eagle Cannon Optional Soul Triad trees to invest in - Any Weapon - Tactical Rifle, Rail Gun, Howitzer or Ireland MRND-48 AAG A straightforward build for long range, with plenty of room for other trees for hybrid builds. Multi-Shot and Eagle Cannon power up Brooks' basic attacks and provide him with Flashbang Cooldown, among other things. Other trees can be chosen based on needs of the team or preference of the player. Weapon choice adds more versatility -- Tactical Rifle for frequent Flashbang Blind, Rail Gun for Wind Field Effect team builds, Howitzer for Mind Field Effect team builds and Ireland MRND-48 AAG is included again for ally support. Position Control Role - Large damage, ally/enemy reposition, movement halt Required Soul Triad trees to invest in - Power Drag, Pandemonium, Black Hole Optional Soul Triad trees to invest in - Any Weapon - Plasma Shot, Ultra Rifle or Ireland MRND-48 AAG This build focuses on Brooks' ability to control ally and enemy positions and functions as a support build typically with occasional big damage from Black Hole. Plasma Shot is a good weapon choice if there is a preference towards High Gravity, while Ultra Rifle is a better choice for Black Hole. Ireland MRND-48 AAG once again is useful for ally buffs in nearly any scenario. |
