Shuriken


Pros

Jimmy starts with Shuriken by default in Story Mode and Endless Dungeon. Shuriken is a projectile that can deal up to Attack x 4 damage (Attack x 6 damage with the Ninja Knives equipped) at a cooldown as low as 4 seconds, allowing to help influence and maintain the Mind Field Effect. Shurikens also contribute to Crimson Force by tagging any hit enemies with a Fire Siphon Tag, allowing Crimson Force to add additional explosions that deal more damage. Jimmy's Zipmore Dirks also allow his Shurikens to inflict very wide area Stagger on hit, something that is very useful given Shuriken's low cooldown (a cooldown that can be zero during the Fire Field Effect, as well).


Cons

Shuriken is hugely versatile, but will be nothing more than a very poor damage tool without the proper Augmentor and Weapon support.



Smoke Grenade


Pros

Jimmy starts with Smoke Grenade by default in Story Mode and Endless Dungeon. Smoke Grenade is a wide area Stagger tool which allows for both an invincible dodge from Jimmy and makes it so if other allies are present, they will be forced to target someone other than Jimmy. Smoke Grenade's cooldown can go as low as 4 seconds, and each enemy hit by Smoke Grenade will reduce all of Jimmy's cooldowns by half a second per enemy (up to 2 seconds when hitting a full group of 4 enemies), making it versatile for more access to abilities and Mind Field Effect influence/maintainance.


Cons

Smoke Grenade deals no damage and it can be tricky at times to hit 4 enemies at one time safely to optimize cooldown reduction.



Fiery Passion


Pros

Fiery Passion is a powerful defensive buff, granting up to Defense + 50% to all allies for 8 seconds, with a cooldown of 10 seconds. Its ease of use and bulking up of weaker defensive characters makes this a good choice for many builds.


Cons

Fiery Passion's cooldown does not start until Fiery Passion wears off for Jimmy, so there will be notable gaps due to its cooldown (even with Smoke Grenade being used to ease this up somewhat).



Beyond Eternity


Pros

Beyond Eternity is a sacrificial ability, where Jimmy puts all of his own abilities on cooldown in order to zero out all cooldowns on Jimmy's other allies (allowing characters with high cooldowns, like Knight, Tara and Cook to use their powerful abilities more frequently) and grants Combat Movement + 100% to the party for 15 seconds. Jimmy is also healed for 100 HP on use.


Cons

Even though Beyond Eternity's sacrifice is not as large as Pound's Vampire due to Jimmy's overall low cooldowns, it is still a sacrifice -- planning around Jimmy's cooldowns is needed before using Beyond Eternity.



Spiritcharge


Pros

Spiritcharge boosts Jimmy's Defense by 80%, makes him invincible for 3 seconds if his HP is under 25%, and if the Mind Field Effect is active, inflicts Attack x 12 damage and Stagger to an area around him, making Spiritcharge a powerful defensive tool. Spiritcharge's Soul Triad tree also contains Smoke Grenade's Escape Artist (Smoke Grenade's cooldown reduction passive), making Spiritcharge a good investment even for that.


Cons

While Spiritcharge is a more powerful defensive tool than Fiery Passion, it only affects Jimmy and requires Jimmy to already be at low HP to trigger its invincibility.
