Character Guides - Claire - Abilities, Body - May 30, 2020

Pushback

Pros

Like all characters in Story Mode and Endless Dungeon, Claire starts with Pushback. Claire, through her Ninja tree, can gain Power Shove, which inflicts Knockdown at the end of the Pushback's Stagger.

Cons

It is good to have additional Knockdown options, especially those with short cooldowns to maintain/influence the Body Field Effect, but is not worth going out of its way to invest for on its own -- it's more of a nice bonus from the Ninja tree.

Knockdown

Pros

Like all characters in Story Mode and Endless Dungeon, Claire starts with Knockdown, and is useful for making an enemy unable to fight back for 2 seconds while they receive 50% more damage. In particular, Claire can get Knockdown's cooldown as low as 5 seconds, making it useful for inflicting Knockdown while influencing/maintaining the Body Field Effect.

Cons

A 5 second Knockdown cooldown is a great ability to have at the ready for Body Field Effect builds, but needs the Ninja tree to hit 5 seconds, so some Augmentor investment is needed for this.

Throat Jab

Pros

Maxed out, Throat Jab inflicts a Defense debuff on ALL enemies that makes them receive 4x damage (5x with Assassin Blade) from all attacks for 8 seconds, including Knockback collision damage, while inflicting Stun on the original target. This Defense debuff is just as valuable as it sounds, and is the primary driving force in a number of Claire's builds.

Cons

Missing with Throat Jab, which is a melee range ability, means having Claire's primary purpose in a team not being fulfilled. Throat Jab, being a debuff, will also need to be re-applied to all new waves of enemy reinforcements.

Ninja

Pros

Ninja is a dash attack that deals Attack x 1.5 and has 5 seconds of cooldown. During the Body Field Effect, it lowers all of Claire's cooldowns by 3 seconds (including Ninja), making it a very versatile ability that is great for Body Field Effect maintainance. Ninja can also trigger a dodge and Rebound Bonus (which is a passive that all characters can learn and normally triggers from status ailments; doubles damage and boosts Combat Movement for 3 seconds) if Claire has gained it from her Sixth Sense tree.

Cons

Ninja is a weak damage ability and Claire is still vulnerable to damage when using it, making this an ability to invest in only if going for a Body Field Effect.

Crimson Acrobat

Pros

Maxed out, Crimson Acrobat deals 8 slashes of Attack x 0.6 damage with a cooldown of 10 seconds. On top of the standard Knockdown damage, Crimson Acrobat deals an additional 3x damage to enemies suffering from Knockdown (something she can trigger frequently), making Crimson Acrobat one of Claire's better damage options.

Cons

While Crimson Acrobat itself can deal out damage with high damage modifiers, Claire herself has low Attack and will not deal as much damage as dedicated damage dealers, despite this being a stronger damage option for her.
