Shotguns are ranged weapons that deal large damage up close and pitiful damage at a distance. In this sense, they act like pseudo-melee weapons, requiring ammo. They also deal damage to a small area, not just to one target, which has the benefit of hitting enemies on the other side of enemy Shields.

Abilities include area boosts and effectiveness, additional damage at melee range, making attacks drag foes closer to the user, a powerful counterattack and an active ability that fires all shotgun ammo in one shot.
